The Covered Bridge

Big Elk Creek winds slowly down the hill running
From Mt. Hope Road at Saginaw Street
And down through the dogwood trees to Old Oxford Way
To Lincoln Avenue, then to the school in PA

In a hundred years or so the winds wont know
Which way to blow or if hard or soft
And leaves will fall down the enchanted forest’s hill
And clutter orange, brown and the yellow-green glow

Of nature’s castaway clothes
The sound the Enchanted Forest makes
Is what draws us so near, so close when really far away
Come look, enjoy, the Covered Bridge at Big Elk Creek
